With public increased interest in performance and horse power, Chevrolet introduced the 409 CI engine in 1961, also a W block version.
Many of us remember the Beach Boys song 409 which included the line my four speed dual quad positraction 409 right? Well, this 1961 Impala is equipped exactly as that iconic song describes.
The engine is a 409ci block topped with two four barrel carburetors and backed up by a four speed transmission, a positraction rear end and power brakes to bring it all to a stop.
