Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst

General Description:
This position is responsible for performing a number of key business analysis functions, including training and mentoring department staff, serving as a key resource to leadership, and participating in key departmental planning sessions.
The Senior Healthcare Analyst will proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs with a focus on delivering analytics to business users.
The position requires independent work with users and vendor staff to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Obtain reporting requirements from business owners and document those requirements using standard templates Provide an analytical assessment of 'current state' business functions and the recommendation of a future 'desired state' Support HEALTHeLINKs efforts to evolve and transform its data architecture, evaluate vendors, and expand analytics tools.
Provide leadership in the design and development of data warehouse/business intelligence solutions Serve as a subject matter expert for healthcare analytics & reporting Support department staff with report & data visualization development required for various HEALTHeLINK community projects, NYS deliverables, and clients.
Develop reports and analytics; train staff and business users as needed Review and recommend business process improvements Maintain operational process ownership and oversight Provide guidance and mentorship to department staff Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on data structures and analytics tools Participate in projects as requested Collaborate with other departments and members of the HEALTHeLINK Team as needed Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and strategies with demonstrated analysis and design skills Familiarity with the regional healthcare landscape, value-based payment, & CMS payment innovation programs Familiarity with healthcare claims grouping methodologies and healthcare reimbursement systems; previous claims analytics experience strongly preferred Familiarity with health system data sources (CCD & HL7) Ability to think analytically and be a problem-solver Comfortable in client-facing meetings & eliciting requirements from clients to further business opportunities Experience with the development and implementation of various statistical models a plus Understanding capability and viability of emerging technologies Exhibits professional demeanor, interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service Understanding of data models, technology standards, and architecture principals Presentation of ideas in a concise and focused manner Ensure compliance with standards and architecture Demonstrated ability to consistently and reliably perform duties in a timely fashion Self-starter requiring limited supervision for the planning and execution of daily duties and responsibilities Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of programming languages and tools a plus Previous experience and knowledge in business process design Proven results in business acumen, process planning and outcomes Demonstrated proficiency in BI and analytics tools such as; Elastic Search, Pentaho, Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, SSRS, JSON, or Access Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing data models, BI tools, technology standards and architecture principals Ability to assess operational and user needs and design systems to serve those needs Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Software Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines and company goals Experience and Education:
Bachelors Degree or higher preferred 3-5 years of healthcare analyst work desired Physical Requirements:
